Black Friday 2021 is now over although many retailers are continuing their sales in the run-up to Christmas and then, of course, we have the Boxing Day sales to look forward to. So if you didn't get the Black Friday deal you were after this year there's no need to wait for Black Friday 2022 or Amazon Prime Day, which we think will take place in July 2022.
So how did Black Friday 2021 go down? Despite the worries about stock shortages and delayed delivery times there were plenty of deals to be had and although we saw some items sell out quickly there were still loads of deals as Cyber Monday arrived after the Black Friday weekend.

Some of the best deals in 2021 were this massive 75" Samsung 4K TV for which dropped to £749 at Amazon (we gave it 5 stars to when we reviewed it) while we also liked this 86" 8K TV by LG which was £1,000 off at Currys. Other popular TV deals on Black Friday 2021 this year were this Samsung 43" 4K QLED TV which was £350 off and this Samsung 55" model which was £200 off, both at Currrys.
What did T3 readers buy over the Black Friday 2021 sales period? Our data says home appliances were really popular. Perhaps it's due to lots of people moving house in the last year and lockdown making it tricky to get appliances delivered and fitted at the time? As a result, the AO.com sale with up to 70% off was particularly popular. For Dyson deals you're after, over on eBay the official Dyson Outlet was selling refurbished Dyson V11 vacuum cleaners and Hot + Cold fansboth at £250 off the price they were when new, which were fantastic deals. Currys tells us that its top three selling products over Black Friday 2021 weree AirPods with Charging Case (2nd generation); HomePod Mini and ActiFry Genius+ FZ773840 Air Fryer.
Exercise gear, in particularly Nike and Adidas, was also super popular this year with JD Sports, Gymshark, Adidas.com and Nike.com all being hot Black Friday deal destinations, as was the sportswear section on ASOS.
Amazon UK has given us some info on how the Black Friday sale went for them. Amazon says that in the UK home, toys, and beauty were among the top-selling categories across the 48 hours of Black Friday, while Black Friday best-sellers also included Fire TV Stick and Echo Dot. Other top sellers included Celebrations Chocolate Bulk Box, Woodford Reserve Bourbon Whiskey, Garnier Sheet Mask Discovery Collection, and Yankee Candle Gift Set. Amazon also tells us that in 2021, more than half of sales from Black Friday through Cyber Monday were from independent selling partners, most of which are small and medium-sized businesses.
Affiliate network AWIN analysed its sales data to determine the most popular categories in the lead up to and during Black Friday. It found that the average size of baskets on Black Friday was up by 20% compared to 2020, and that fashion sales contributed to 25% of total Black Friday sales.
Currys also sent us some information after it completed a study comparing people's responses to online shopping with that during everyday activities. It found that online shopping gets people's hearts racing more than social media. Apparently, online shopping increases shoppers’ heart rates by 4.9%, compared with a decrease of 2.7% when browsing social media. The study also found that people give online shopping a stress rating of 4/10, compared with just 3/10 for social media – hopefully that's where T3 can help as it's our job to hunt down the best deals in the sales year-round. T3 can also help with two common challenges reported by the volunteers which were: not being able to assess the quality of a product before buying it (check our reviews) and spending hours browsing because there’s so much to take in (check our top deal picks).
When is Black Friday 2022?
Black Friday 2022 takes place on Friday, 25 November 2022 and then Cyber Monday follows it on Monday, 28 November. Expect the Black Friday sales to begin around two weeks ahead of Black Friday 2022, so from Friday 11 November.
Below are the best deals of Black Friday 2021. Note that many of these items are no longer at their reduced prices but some are, so if there's anything you like the look at you might want to click through on the off-chance. Good luck!
